Traffic delays were seen in Toronto on Highway 404 after a collision occurred Wednesday afternoon. According to Ontario Provincial Police Sgt Kerry Schmidt, there was a two-vehicle crash that involved a passenger car rear-ending a commercial truck on the southbound lanes near highway 7. The collision happened around 3 pm
Schmidt continues to say that the driver of the passenger car, a 60-year-old man, exited the vehicle after the collision and moved across the highway onto the northbound side, and made it to the third lane before inevitably being struck by another vehicle.
Officers were on the scene to investigate and the vehicles involved in the initial collision were moved to the side of the road.
The man was taken to a nearby trauma centre with serious injuries sustained.
Initially, both northbound and southbound lanes were closed but after 6:30 pm, Ontario Provincial Police confirmed all lanes to be reopened.
