Car Fell 4 Metres into Ravine, Causing 1 Dead, 3 Injured After Going Off Bridge

After a car went off a bridge and into the ravine near Black Creek Drive and Lawrence Avenue, one person is dead and three are in hospital.

According to Const. Graham Williamson of the Ontario Provincial Police, the collision occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1st when a Toyota Camry collided with another car and then drove over the bridge’s guardrail and into a ravine. The vehicle landed on its roof.

It took the emergency crew 30 minutes to extricate the victim.

 

The three victims had life-threatening injuries and were taken to Sunnybrook Hospital; police say they are expected to survive. The fourth person, a 55-year-old man from Brampton, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The passengers in the other vehicle involved in the accident were not harmed.
Investigation of the cause of the accident is still ongoing by the OPP and Toronto Police.
